The capital of the Ladakh district, Leh is towards the eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. It is perched at a height of 3,505 m above sea level. Lapped in the snow-covered fringes of the Himalayas, Leh India has been the center of Tibeto-Buddhist culture since ages. Its colorful Gompas have attracted the devout Buddhists from all over the globe. Besides, it is also a favorite hiking locale and is known for some of the best hikes in India.

After breakfast, drive to visit Phyang Gompa - Placed around 40 km westwards of Leh town, Phyang Gompa belongs to the red hat sect of Buddhism. White and ochre colored monastery lies on a hill top and seems to be overlooking the surrounding village. Later we drive to Likir Gompa - About 62 m from Leh, Likir village located in Indus Valley is believed to be among the oldest villages of India. Likir means the Naga encircled. The monastery got its name as it is believed two serpent spirits –Nanda and Taksako – guard it. The Gompa belongs to Gelugpa sect of Buddhism which is also referred as Yellow Hat sect. Later drive towards Alchi - Renowned as the oldest Buddhist learning centre in Ladakh, Alchi Monastery is located 70 km from Leh in Jammu and Kashmir in north India on the bank of Indus River. A national heritage site, it is distinct from other monasteries in Ladakh as it is situated on flat ground unlike others which are located on hilltops. In the evening, drive to Uleytokpo & on arrival check into your pre booked camp. Overnight stay at Camp.
After breakfast, drive to Leh. Upon arrival check in at your pre booked hotel. Day is at lesiure. Overnight stay at hotel.
After an early breakfast we leave for pangong lake through the Changla pass at 5486 meters. Pangong lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m) is a long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometer at its widest point and over 130km in length. It is bisected by the international border between India and China. Enjoy the landscape in the back drop of the lake. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. Evening is at leisure and overnight stay at the camp.
After breakfast, drive to Leh. Enroute visit Thiksey Monastery - Thiksey Gompa or Thiksey Monastery (also transliterated from Ladakhi as Tikse, Tiksey or Thiksey) (thiksok Nambar tak pe ling) is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery of the Yellow Hat (Gelugpa) sect, located on top of a hill, approximately 19 kilometres east of Leh in Ladakh, India. It is noted for its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet and is the largest Gompa in central Ladakh. Visit Shey Monastery - The Shey Monastery or Gompa and the Shey Palace complex are structures located on a hillock in Shey,15 kilometres (9.3 mi) to the south of Leh in Ladakh, northern India on the Leh-Manali road. Shey was the summer capital of Ladakh in the past. The monastery is noted for its giant copper with a gilded gold statue of a seated Shakyamuni Buddha. Shakyamuni Buddha is so named since Buddha was the sage (Muni) of the Sakya people who resided in the Himalayan foothills and their capital was Kapilvastu. It is said to be the second largest such statue in Ladakh. Upon arrival , check into your pre booked hotel in Leh. Overnight stay at hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Nubra valley in the morning, driving over the highest motored pass in the world. The exciting journey through the serpentine roads leads us to the Khardungla Pass at an awesome height of 5550 meters. We stop at the pass to admire and click some photographs of the fantastic view, before driving down into the Nubra valley. The valley is situated on an old caravan route at the confluence of the Shayok and the Nubra rivers. We drive to our fixed camp resort and later drive to visit the charming valley, of Deskit – the tiny capital of Nubra. The capital is marked by a single file of shops that are put up on the main road. Visit the Deskit Gompa, perched on a rocky spur above the village, with a commanding view of the entire valley. From Deskit we will drive to Hunder past an area of sand dunes and get acquainted with the famous Bactrian camels. This small population of shaggy double-humped animals, which in the old days, were used as pack animals on the Central Asian trade routes are now used as riding animals in the high deserts. Late afternoon we will drive to the camp. Overnight stay in camp.
After early breakfast, drive to Leh. Upon arrival, check in at your pre booked hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore local market. Overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Leh airport for your onward journey.
